Chesapeake Investment Management, LLC is an independent Washington, DC-based full-service, fee-structured investment advisory firm registered with the SEC. Scott E. Beck – President

Scott E. Beck is President and founder of Chesapeake Investment Management, LLC, and a member of its Investment Committee. Scott founded Chesapeake on the premise of providing superior client service and performance.  He has more than 28 years of experience as an investment adviser and financial consultant. His responsibilities at Chesapeake include serving as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, co-developing the firm’s quarterly investment outlook, performing securities analysis, formulating portfolio strategies and managing client portfolios. Scott has worked extensively with individuals and institutional clients and has broad industry experience interpreting and implementing investment policy guidelines, target asset allocations and investment strategies.

Prior to founding Chesapeake Investment Management, Scott was a partner with Columbia Financial Advisors, LLP, a privately owned investment and advisory firm in Washington, DC. Before joining Columbia, he was a Senior Vice President for Johnston, Lemon & Company, Inc., a Washington-based regional brokerage and investment advisory firm. His experience and responsibilities with the firm, spanning 18 years, included executing firm trades as a floor broker on the Philadelphia Options Exchange, equity trading, securities analysis, portfolio management and financial consulting. Scott was also a Senior Vice President for JL Capital Management, the firm’s investment management arm, and a member of its Investment Committee. Scott has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and on WSJ.com. He holds a B.S. in Finance, Marketing from the University of South Carolina.

Scott is an active member of the Washington community. He serves on a host of committees for DC-area nonprofits related to the investment industry. He is Past President of the University Club of Washington, DC. and current Treasurer of the University Club Foundation. Scott lives with his wife Laura and their two children in Potomac, Maryland.

E. Antonio Sarrge – Vice President

E. Antonio Sarrge is the Vice President of Chesapeake Investment Management and a member of its Investment Committee. He has nine years of experience as an investment adviser and financial consultant and more than 11 years managing client relationships. His responsibilities at Chesapeake include developing and maintaining portfolio strategies, managing client portfolios, co-developing the firm’s quarterly investment outlook, conducting fundamental research and securities analysis. Tony has extensive experience working with individuals, nonprofits and corporations, an impressive record of interpreting and applying investment policy guidelines and investment strategies, and a reputation for focusing on client service.

Prior to joining Chesapeake Investment Management, Tony held positions at Folger Nolan Fleming Douglas, Inc., where he was Portfolio Manager, and at Columbia Financial Advisors, LLP, where he was a principal and portfolio manager. He is currently a principal of Washington Financial Planners, LLC. Tony holds the Certified Public Accountant designation and a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from George Mason University.

Tony is an active member of the Washington, DC community. Tony is Chair of Downtown Baptist Church Capital Improvement Committee and serves on the Pastor Selection Committee. Tony lives with his wife Lisa and their two children in Annandale, Virginia.

Maureen Bigger, CFP – Investment Advisor Representative

Maureen Bigger CFP, is an investment advisor representative with Chesapeake Investment Management as well as the founder and owner of Bigger & Company, LLC, an insurance brokerage firm. Maureen has eight years of experience as an investment advisor and an insurance professional. She currently assists business owners and executives with business continuation, asset protection, and succession planning. Maureen also offers services pertaining to group health and welfare benefits, executive benefits, retirement planning, and estate and financial planning strategies.

Prior to joining Chesapeake Investment Management and founding Bigger & Company, LLC, Maureen spent over 20 years working in the semiconductor industry on both coasts. An active member in the local community, Maureen has served as board member and co-chair of the Mentor Protégé Committee for Women in Technology, is a member of the Executive Women’s Board of the City Club of Washington, and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Capital Society. She is also a founding member of the Business Resource Advisory Group and the DC Dynamos.

Maureen earned a B.S. degree in Finance from George Mason University. A native Californian, Ms. Bigger moved to Virginia in 1994. She and her husband, John, live in Alexandria with their Labrador retriever. She is an avid reader, enjoys sailing and needlework, and attempts the occasional game of golf.

Max Elbin, Jr. Director/Portfolio Manager

Max is a native of Washington, DC and has over 20 years of investment and financial management experience. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a B.A. in Economics and Political Science. His investment career began in 1983 as a retail stockbroker with Johnston, Lemon & Co. of Washington, DC, where he was responsible for managing both individual and corporate assets. He has extensive experience in the equity and fixed income markets, as well as managing assets for corporate pension plans and individual retirement accounts. His background also includes his position of Portfolio Manager with Scott and Stringfellow, as well as a project director with Kestler Financial Group of Leesburg, Va, where he supervised the development of the Moneyguard program. In addition, he spent five years with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) as a Business Development Specialist, focusing on small and medium size technology companies.

He has been involved with a wide array of charitable and civic groups, including volunteer activities with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Washington as well as DC Cares, Habitat for Humanity and the Wounded Warrior project. His hobbies include golf, cycling and reading. He resides in Ashburn, Virginia with his wife and daughter.

Brannon N. Brown is a Director/Portfolio Manager

Brannon has three years of experience as an investment advisor and a financial professional. His responsibilities at Chesapeake Investment Management include portfolio strategies and consulting in addition to management of client portfolios, fundamental research and security analysis.

Prior to joining Chesapeake Investment Management, Brannon spent three years working as an investment advisor for Capital Consulting in Denver Colorado. As a Registered Investment Advisor, Brannon has considerable experience working with individuals, small business and non-profit organizations implementing and assisting with retirement planning, target asset allocation strategies, and overall investment strategies.

Brannon earned his undergraduate in Business Finance from Ouachita Baptist University and has a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Denver Seminary. He and his wife, Melanie, live in Alexandria, VA with their two dogs, Sarge and McKinley. Brannon is an avid golfer and outdoor enthusiast.
